Good, family sustaining jobs make our economy and our nation stronger, but our current structure of work is not enough to provide families with economic security.

America’s labor unions, likewise, have a long history of supporting actions that empower working people and advance our economy.

Twice a year, every federal agency, including the Department of Labor, releases a list of  the regulations they have under development, aka a regulatory agenda. On one level, it’s a snapshot of our current progress on the regulations that we’re working on, and a roadmap for the year ahead. But beneath the surface of every regulation is a story about workers — and our values.

The U.S. Department of Labor is proud to support the Small Business Administration’s National Small Business Week. We help connect small businesses to apprenticeship and skills training programs, workplace safety and health resources, wage and hour guidance, health care and retirement planning, employment resources for people with disabilities—and much more.

A new collaborative network will help us better measure, analyze and report on job quality.  

Under the updated U.S. National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking, the U.S. Department of Labor is recommitting its resources and energy to combat labor trafficking at home and abroad.
